Emily explained the surgery, the doctor\u2019s restrictions, and Daniel\u2019s reaction.<\/p>\n

The work would begin Saturday and continue for two weeks. Because of the paint fumes and floor chemicals, the contract specifically stated that no one could occupy the home during construction.<\/p>\n
Emily also contacted her health insurance company. Her plan covered a temporary stay at a recovery residence with grab bars, an elevator, and scheduled visits from a nurse.<\/p>\n
On Friday, she packed clothing, medication, legal papers, and one photograph of her parents.<\/p>\n
