Sienna\u2019s eyes darted back and forth between my shimmering gold penthouse band and her own cheap blue plastic strip. Her mouth opened, but no sound came out.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2026\u201d Dad\u2019s voice trembled, a vein in his neck bulging as his face turned a dangerous shade of crimson. \u201cYou did this to us!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDid what, Julian?\u201d I asked, taking a calm sip of iced tea. \u201cI\u2019m just sitting here eating my dinner.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cDon\u2019t play dumb with me, Clara!\u201d he barked, slamming his palm onto the table. A few nearby diners turned their heads, murmuring among themselves. \u201cWe got to the port, and the check-in agent handed us keycards for room 2014! Room 2014! It\u2019s in the dark belly of the ship, Clara! We are directly above the engine room! The walls shake every time the propeller turns, and it smells like diesel!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd where are our drink packages?!\u201d Sienna shrieked, finding her voice at last. \u201cEthan and I went to the bar to get pi\u00f1a coladas, and the bartender charged my credit card fifty dollars! He said our packages were canceled!\u201d<\/p>\n
