My 14-year-old daughter stopped eating dinner with us 3 months ago. She said she wasn’t hungry. She was losing weight. I thought it was a phase.

Then I found her diary hidden under her mattress.

The first page said: “Day 1 of not eating. If I’m thin enough, maybe he’ll stop.”

I couldn’t read another word. My vision went blurry.

I drove to her school and went straight to the principal’s office.

“Something is happening to my daughter in this school,” I said.

The principal shook his head. “Mrs. Torres, your daughter is our best student. Nothing is wrong.”

I slammed the diary onto his desk.

He read one page.

His face changed.

He picked up the phone.

He called the police.

Not because of a student.

Not because of a classmate.

But because the name written over and over in my daughter’s diary belonged to someone every parent in town trusted………

The End
